As the mom of 4, including a high schooler, a middle schooler, a special needs elementary schooler, and preschooler, my life is very full.

Photography allows me the opportunity to capture connections and hold on to memories. To be that fly on the wall watching the beauty unfold and reveling in the sweetness of it. My joy is reflecting back to you all the wonder I see in the tiny details of life. The expression, the connection, the joy AND the pain.

Writing gives me a sense that my pain has purpose. That in sharing my heart someone out there will feel a connection and know they are not alone. I discovered long ago that magic is REAL. The right combination of verb, adjective, and prose does indeed weave a spell that can whisk you away to another time and place. Another dimension, another world. It’s not just the immersion in a story, but the beauty in the CRAFT of words and how they paint images right in front of your eyes that mystifies and mesmerizes me. The combinations are so breathtakingly innumerable that literally ANYTHING is possible.

Our world is becoming increasingly difficult to live in. We feel alone and afraid so often. We need opportunities to remember that we are all shoulder to shoulder trudging along towards the finish line. If only we could reach out to the person next to us and hold hands. If we could realize the strength in community we could help each other along. My hands are messy and shaky and rather cold at times, but my blog section is me… reaching out. Life isn’t always the pretty pictures, so I want to let you in on the other stuff too.
